Kakinada.info News Desk
The track map for Cyclone Arnab shows the storm’s centre crossing the coast near Antarvedi, south of Kakinada, and then moving inland near Rajamahendravaram. If it follows this path, Kakinada would avoid a direct hit from the eye.

That does not mean the danger has passed. The IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari and nearby districts. Kakinada may still see heavy rain, strong gusty winds and rough seas, and areas on a cyclone’s right side can get stronger winds and higher waves.
Cyclones can change direction, speed and strength. The track could shift north or south, so please watch for official updates.
What to do:
- Stay indoors during heavy rain and winds, away from trees, hoardings and electric poles.
- Charge phones, and keep torches, drinking water and medicines ready.
- Fishermen should not go to sea.
- People in low-lying and coastal areas should move to relief centres if the authorities ask.
- Trust only updates from the IMD, APSDMA and the District Collector. Don’t forward unverified messages.
Authorities are on alert. With a calm, prepared approach, we can get through this safely. We’ll update this report with every new IMD bulletin.
